Interesting app. I never even look at the apple-based posts for apps because I'm an Android user. If this was on the Android market, I'd probably pay $3 for it. At least I'll keep an eye out for it now- have to give it to the kid that he's persistent!

I can't figure out if I'd consider this evil or real. I don't believe in the laws of relativity; we're in a localized region of space and in other parts of the universe they very well may not apply- In theory, if something were moving faster than the speed of light; it wouldn't be seen until it stopped or reached a point at which it fell within the visible spectrum.

Faster than light is referenced here only as accelerating a photon past it's maximum speed- If you manipulate space itself, it can move faster than light though light inside said manipulated space…

I can completely understand that, but the specific reason I commented was because it mentioned 3D printing.

That'd be do-able, the material shapeways uses is paintable and this would be worth more if it was hand-painted ;D

The sad part is I could model this or something better in Zbrush in less than 15 minutes; print it at shapeways.com in a hollow variety for under $200, and buy a $15 lamp to create something almost exactly the same in a little under 3 hours. [shipping time from shapeways excluded of course]
