Divide your income by four and triple your expenses and you'll have a better approximation of the actual financials.

You shouldn’t hate to be “that guy.” You should hate that other people think it’s a good idea to endanger the public to capture petty criminals.

Seriously. And how does anyone think deploying spike strips on a road that has a corridor of stopped cars filled with people is a good idea?

I hate to be that guy, but if no one was chasing him he wouldn’t have been driving that fast, and they wouldn’t have “needed” to deploy spike strips in a high-speed chase. I understand the need to pursue justice, but if one of the people in that car had died, I can’t imagine the justification.

Count me in as one of the 4. I’ve had multiple Gen 1, 2 and Gen 3 Sebrings and I currently have an ‘01 Limited in triple blue alongside a beautiful JXi Gen 1.

Other than the potential steering lock issue, I find that believable. The hazard lights switch needs power when the car is off, but it also connects to circuits that have power only when the car is on (e.g., the turn signals.) It isn’t hard to imagine a sneak path for current that could power the car that way.

Jesus, really?

Dale Jr, 2020!

Based on his political takes and leanings I think I would vote for him.

He really does come off as just a flat out good person in most things I see him involved in. It’s nice to see someone with a lot of money and success still act like a normal, genuine human.

Dale Sr.- first class driver

No Jack Baldwin Trans Am Camaro or his race suit?

Anybody else bugged by the tire flexing in the wrong direction in that diagram? It should have been pulled downhill (or rather contact patch stays and the car moves) as it was resisting the momentum of the car going up the banking.

There is only one grey area on Jalopnik. ;P

With no risk of being prosecuted... why not? Fire away!

But how would everyone know that a cop is willing to shoot someone/anyone at any moment if he didn’t pull a gun sometime/anytime?

Never let any reason to pull a gun pass without pulling a gun.

There are a fair number of suitable facilities for short road courses: Police driver training facilities!

In all cases where a cop uses (or draws) a gun, you have to ask yourself, how would this have ended if it were an unarmed cop instead of an armed cop. I don’t see how this would have ended differently.

It was entirely unnecessary.  The cop increased the danger of the situation.  And the car was a localized threat.  If

You do realize that shooting a person behind the wheel is then putting said weapon on a potentially random path? Hence why high-speed pursuits aren’t solved by cops shooting into moving vehicles.
