People will race if there is a place or not and increasingly society has chased off race tracks and there isn’t a safe place. You’re missing the point; drop the hyperbole and realize this wasn’t a matter of life and death either. The guy bumped the car and drove around behind it; he wasn’t speeding at them from across the infield. The only thing that was life and death was the cop pointing his gun at people.

Except that the other guy obviously wasn’t injured, medical personnel weren’t attending to him, he wasn’t on a stretcher, and he wasn’t being hit with a hockey stick. 

No, they’re both dangerous but neither should result in someone being shot.

He didn’t hit the guy, he hit the guys car. Also, no it would be like two NHL players getting into a fight after a play and then a cop shooting one of them.

That is insane; by your justification an officer could intervene anytime what would be considered a crime off the field occurs on the field. Think about what you’re justifying seriously before saying it.

No driver has ever died from any racing incident at Bowman Gray but many hockey players suffer from CTE which can result in early death. Seems like hockey fighting may be more dangerous.

Same could be said for football games, soccer games and hockey games that get out of hand; is that what you want?

The driver didn’t use deadly force either; he pointed his car in the general direction of another car.

It is also worth keeping in mind that the car wasn’t actually aimed where the people where standing and his front tires where turned away from the cop and the other driver; if the driver had gone forward he would only have the the back of the other car. 

This is EXACTLY what we are talking about here; I don’t like the racing at Bowman Gray but this kind of stuff has always been allowed. If a cop can unilaterally decide what is or isn’t allowed on one field they can decide it on any field. 

Why should a football player be allowed to use their body as a deadly weapon? What about a Boxer? Why should hockey and baseball fights be allowed? At Bowman Gray this is how the racing happens; it always has. The cop is the one that decided unilaterally to change that, the cop decided in that moment the death penalty…
