I was thinking Dark Angel.
I was thinking Dark Angel.
I’ll just leave this here:
Drug pricing for instance is based on how much they think people will pay for it.
I am not saying my example applies to the majority of immigrants, but it does to large numbers of them. And I’m not saying that they go to the US with little to no skills, you pulled that up out of thin air. Quite the opposite in fact:
So that’s why the scene at the Fortress of Solitude opened on a closeup of a Legion ring!
Yes, you are being disingenuous because you keep trying to force my analogy into being about refugees, when my point is about immigrants. Just because a person wakes up one morning and realizes “My country has gone to shit and it’s unlikely to recover in the foreseeable future. I ought to move somewhere else so I can…
First of all, stop being disingenuous. They were making middle class wages (by their country’s standards) before the crisis hit. Usually with a hell of a lot less forewarning than the coal miners have been getting.
I know people who went from middle class in their homeland to cleaning houses in the US because a political or economic crisis wiped out their jobs without hope of recovery. Do you know how many foreign medical doctors there are scrubbing floors or driving taxis in the US because they can’t practice their professions…
Immigrants do it all the time. Most of them without even the benefit of speaking the language.
That’s the thing, every time someone extends a hand to try to help them to their feet they spit on it and slap it away.
Then they’re idiots for staying there.
Me too, and I don’t live anywhere near it. But I’ve been there enough times for Dragon*Con that I can recognize any scene shot there immediately.
What confuses me is what he could be mistaking for magazines.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record… is there any sign of Katheryn Winnick in the trailer?
Was I the only one that thought that the shape Calvin had by the final third of the movie kind of resembled the description of the Martians in War of the Worlds? And by that I mean the ones from the original H.G. Wells novel.
I will revisit my opinion if they go ahead with the purchase.
South Korea probably realices the futility of such a thing.
Maybe that thing will be the MCU version of the Spider-Tracers.
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has revealed to EW the show will be going full-blown supernatural in season two:
Or it can have cities that look heavily urbanized but with architecture that doesn’t look like a copy-paste of Coruscant.
