You bother because you have a story to tell. Who cares about the Hugos? Who cares about awards at all? You bother to write because you can't NOT write, because writing is your passion, and if you deny your passion, you deny your very being, and that way lies madness.

When I worked as a temp for a small pharma company that no longer exists, we had this crazy Russian guy that used to drive the mice between the mouse house and the irradiator at another facility. See, the mice are put into these little chambers, exposed to high doses of radiation, and you get cell line changes,

“DON'T THINK OF IT AS DYING, said Death. JUST THINK OF IT AS LEAVING EARLY TO AVOID THE RUSH.” ― Terry Pratchett, Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch

For some reason I always get a movie type gif playing in my head, of this person being gushed down the white halls of this pharma building by tons and tons of eye drop solution, arms flailing.

But why can’t we see the energy that’s making it glow?

Did not happen to me, but to an aunt who used to be the specimen archivist at LSU Medical (in Charity Hospital in New Orleans) during the late forties/early fifties. If you wanted to check out a (jarred) two headed fetus, or an abnormal liver, or perhaps get some rabies virus, she was the one who got it for you. This

One of the few horror flicks I can enjoy, the focus on the psychological aspects rather than the “boo” factor really sets this one apart from most. Also helps that some of my favorite music sampled the shit out of this movie

This movie freaked the hell out of me

The first hour or so of Event Horizon is one of my favorite movies. After that it’s total shit.

By far one of my favorite horror movies. Best SciFi horror if you think about all the classic tropes it uses. Everyone was on their game for this, and it deserved better.

I knew there was something I kept forgetting to watch...
Been meaning to watch this one since it came out. Pretty sure I’ve got it floating around somewhere too. What better way to celebrate Easter than a movie about a Hell ship?

I really enjoy this movie. Like a lot. As in, more than I actually should because I hate pretty much everything Paul W.S. Anderson has committed to film. I even generally dislike horror movies but as this article states it takes some of the best horror and sci fi elements from other (better) films and throws em in a

This movie just creeps me the hell out. There is something subconsciously disturbing about this film that is unexplainable.

I second this and third it! Every time I watch this I’ always surprised by how creepy it is.

This movie followed me for a long time after seeing it. There is nothing like going into a cinema expecting a run of the mill sci-fi flick then realizing way too late you’re strapped in for a horror ride. I felt so claustrophobic during this movie. I think the fact that I did not know what I was in for helped it stick
