I hadn’t seen this interview with him previously, but suddenly it’s haunting.

I honestly thought I was dreaming as I fell in and out of sleep very early this morning with the TV on...like, I absolutely heard his passing incorrectly. Then I really woke up and saw the tribute on CBS Saturday.

But at the same time, I'm glad he got to fight on his terms, and that his family was able to grieve privately without the TMZs of the world harassing them.

Goddammit, I watched Civil War just the other day, and then this one the day before yesterday. Thinking how fucking awesome he was in that role, so confident and natural.

“Every one of us is, in the cosmic perspective, precious. If a human disagrees with you, let him live. In a hundred billion galaxies, you will not find another.”
Carl Sagan, Cosmos

Holy fucking shit. I’m legitimately flabbergasted. Dude was a legit great actor. RIP

I don’t have an instagram, so I just googled what you were talking about and saw the video from April, where he was apparently commemorating the then-cancelled Jackie Robinson day - (incidentally, what a sad irony that he ended up dying on the rescheduled Jackie Robinson day today).
Yeah, that definitely looked like

Whys is never the assholes of the world that die young? You know who you are...

The entire time.

How on EARTH was he able to work so hard while he was sick?! “Behind the scenes” he was so welcoming and dignified. Please pray for us, Mr. Boseman

2014 was the “worst year” until 2016 came along and stepped all over that shit.

It was pushed back from the Phase 4 schedule and although the reason given then was that the script wasn’t ready and Ryan Coogler was still writing it, it now seems reasonable that they were informed about his diagnosis and were trying to see if they could give him more time to recuperate from all the chemo treatments

I was cooking dinner when I heard my husband say “oh my GOD!” with genuine shock—and it was worse than I thought. He was only fucking 43 years old and gave the majority of his best known performances while dealing with cancer.

Just knowing what that movie meant, to so many people, it’s fucking heartbreaking. That character, Black Panther, was a breakthrough to so many people in my community who don’t often get to see themselves presented as majestic, dignified heroes on the big screen.

Everyone is saying fuck this year but that isn’t what killed him, it was cancer so how about fuck cancer instead? This could have happened next year and it would have been just as horrible. Please don’t trivialize his death by complaining about the year.

His towering performances are even more amazing considering what he was enduring behind the scenes.

I’m absolutely gutted by this. He brought so much warmth and gravitas to the Black Panther character. I liked forward to seeing him in that role and others.

It’s hitting me hard because it comes out of nowhere, it would be one thing if we knew he had cancer but without knowing that it’s such a gut punch.

Thank you for the clip. What a lovely man. The good they do die young, damn-it-all.

I don’t know why this is hitting me so hard. I really feel for his family. Fuck this year.
