Does the fact that she was drinking mean that she couldn't consent at all? How do you know what happened that night?

Okay, I think it's great that they support/cultivate his differences and individuality but I don't know whether I agree with putting him on national TV with thinly-veiled anonymity. She started her blog anonymously but now she's very public. She's promoting a book, right? Is she profiting off of her blog?

Is she a Corey's Angel? They'd be perfect together for so many reasons.

She's okay with me but her husband. . .how can he not be gay?

If they were all sober and she consented to the "train" is it still rape? It's repulsive to me but if that's her thing, it's her thing. If the dudes were okay with it, I guess that's their thing too.

I'm a graduate too. Just b/c you report a crime doesn't mean that a crime took place. Drinking in the Hall is a separation-level offense. Sex in the Hall is a separation-level offense. Underage drinking is a separation-level offense. She admittedly engaged in all of those things prior to the incident and seemingly

Why?

I honestly think that the three of them had NO INTENTION of raping a fellow student. I don't think they got together and said, "let's go buy some booze, get MIDSHIPMEN Gish hammered out of her mind and then we'll all take turns on her." If the sex was, in fact, non-consensual it was b/c she was too drunk to provide

Somehow I recovered it.

Yeah, it was straight up rape. I actually don't think he got court martialed. I've seen that more and more lately where Mids are getting court martialed for things theyd just get kicked out for when i was there (smoking "spice" comes to mind). Everyone pretty much knew. He was a nice looking dude but had that super

I was out drinking with a friend of mine and a female from his company comes over and joins us. The two of them got flirty and kissed (not in uniform) in front of me. We walked back and the two of them continued but only making out which she affirmed. The thing is, she'd already been disciplined and almost separated

But the thing is, maybe that's for everyone to decide for themselves. To me, I don't think it makes her case stronger. If I were deciding the fate of someone accused of rape and it was he said-she said and the victim had consensual sex with alleged perpetrator the next day, I gotta say, it would be tough to convict

Yes, I think it does but I think the author treated the post to minimize nuance and maximize outrage. I agree, the fact that she had consensual sex with one of the accusers the next morning does not make her claim of rape less credible (although, some other things kinda do) and should be part of the conversation.

"Unfortunately, abortion in the extremely Catholic country"???

Good luck, dude.

A similar thing happened when I was a mid at USNA. Female and male were drinking together in a room (both should be kicked out right there and she was underage - another huge no-no). Something happened (I'm pretty sure he definitely forced himself on her and raped her). She wasn't that drunk. He got kicked out but I

Thank you. You know you're never getting out of the "greys" though for that.

I thought that I read that the reason this came up is b/c 5 months after a friend insisted that she report it. No?

I'm glad someone said it. Based on her testimony, that's exactly what happened. She didn't know until the next day when she saw a tweet from one of them referring to a "train ride." It's a very unfriendly place for women (about 90% men, I think) and if a female hooks up with a male midshipman no matter how modestly,

Okay, I agree that rapists use all sorts of tools, etc. but do you think these guys sat around before hand and said, "let's get Midshipman Wubasmith wasted and rape her."? Do you think they planned on that?
