While we’re on the subject, could we talk about ‘Catalina’ and ‘French’ and ‘Russian’ dressing? In the general sense of ‘why do they still exist’? Is it because of old people?

Look, I get it; you have to be right all the time. You remind me of a mansplaining ex-boyfriend in that way, which naturally makes me cranky.

Because the statistics I was talking about with regards to proportions of personnel assaulted by someone in the chain of command were referring to service members who were sexually assaulted, not the total population? And so I was talking about the population referenced by the statistics? And not some other

I said something unclear (though everyone but you understood), so I clarified, and you kept arguing about something I wasn’t saying.

Oh, for the love of all the gods, stop. I was slightly unclear in my original post, and you just. keep. going. You’re the only one who didn’t get that I was talking about the population of military personnel who have been assaulted, so you keep arguing about something that nobody is arguing.

Oh, I see the problem, you’ve been answering the wrong question. I’ve been talking all along about men and women *who have been assaulted* and you are talking about all military personnel.

1 in 4, or 25% of military women who are assaulted are assaulted by someone in their chain of command. 1 in 3, or 33% of military men who are assaulted are assaulted by someone in their chain of command. Now, here is the tricky bit: which number is higher, 25, or 33 ? My argument is that 33 is higher than 25.

Who, exactly, are you arguing with? I didn’t say that men are more at risk, I said that men are more likely than women to be sexually assaulted by someone in their chain of command.

Good point-women may be more willing to report being assaulted by someone who doesn’t have that kind of power over them.

Yes, I know what it says; it just seems like an odd skew.

According to those stats, men are more at risk than women for sexual assault by someone in their chain of command, which is...odd? But overall way more women are assaulted than men-in the military as elsewhere.

What did the Duchess of Kent do to deserve them? (Unless you meant Princess Michael of Kent, the Obviously Racist One)

Except for how that book was blatant lying, and this case is an honest error

He should have called this memoir Starfucker, because that’s all he is: a man who wants the reflected glory of more famous people.

I’m over the whole ‘schlub with an attactive woman’ sitcom trope, though.

Also, this was in the library? With the books? I’m gonna go ahead and say this is not a best practice for book preservation

Am I the only one who’s been wondering for years why everyone pronounces Arya’s name Ah-ee-a? What do they all have against the r?

Where are Jojo’s parents? Don’t most 15-year-olds live with parents/guardians? How do they feel about this 5-year-old’s fever dream decor?

I take it none of these people eat or drink? Or breathe? All of which involves putting stuff in the body?

One can assume, in fact, that teenagers will want nothing to do with mom-approved porn.”
