dear sir, I am ready to invest in your idea.

Really good long-form piece! I always like it when Kotaku does these.
YES! The books themselves were really impressive.
I like Carolyn better.
Okay.
I’m really enjoying the first few hours. I like how the progression system is very specifically introducing cards that have certain synergies, ensuring that you learn certain strategies rather than leaving it to chance that you get the card you need for a combo from some booster pack.
Whoa! I wouldn’t go that far!
Oh my God wtf????
I went from Polygon to here and did a double take...
I don’t know what the recurring monetization model is for this game, but it’s less likely they’re intentionally dragging out changes and more likely that the bulk of developers are focused on new projects that will bring in revenue and new BF2042 feature development is limited to a very small team.
Ah, that’s really solid insight. And also really maddening for consumers. I used to love the flexibility of getting an Amazon gift card and choosing to use it on a digital game that could be redeemed in a different storefront, like Steam or PSN. I hate that that practice is drying up.
This sequel is both highly unnecessary and also something I can’t wait to see. I know 90% of the jokes will be seeped in nostalgia and I’ll feel really old when the credits roll but dammit, I’m in on the self-indulgence.
This is so damn cool. Both Bandai’s actions as well as the very gracious comments and recognition to others in Tsuoboi’s tweet. Positive feels today!
I hope so, too - for your sake! Ghost of Tsushima, specifically the PS5 upgrade, ended up being one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time. It’s not perfect but the things it does well are executed so incredibly that even at the tail end of the adventure I was still regularly impressed with minor details.
Depends on how much he plays - ruining a country takes time, you know. He’s not gaming as much as you or I.
Now to sit back and see what moles pop up... well done, John! Well done.
Somewhere there’s a product manager tracking all of the ‘key metrics’ around Diablo monetization. They’re looking at downloads, active users, hours to first transaction, etc. They’ve got a model. That model can be boiled down to an answer to a very direct question, “what’s the acquisition cost for a paying customer?”.…
Cool - so the new guard really doesn’t understand what made Overwatch an enjoyable experience compared to other shooters. They are actually trying to mimic other ones. They are intentionally taking a point of differentiation for their product and going, “Whoah, let’s not be unique, let’s just be like everyone else.”
It’s definitely an editing mistake (but a minor one). You see a close-up of Strange doing his thing with briefcase dude looking scared and running, then you go to a wide shot, then back to a close up with Strange again and same homeboy doing the same scared look and run.
As some have said, I don’t get the impression at all that Ari dislikes this, but your general comment is sound - reviewers of anything Borderlands related seem to have a pathological need to shit on the humor of the series. The writing (specifically the dialogue and color - not necessarily the broad storyline) in Borde…
