I love when people who rant and rant about something then do the exact thing they say they hate people to do, LOL. I'm not sure why your focus is getting young adults hooked on a harmful, addictive substance that can kill them and their loved ones. It seems like a really strange target for so much vitriol but the

Are you really in the "smoking is good for you" camp? It's a public health hazard, addictive, and children, who are not smokers, have increased instances of bronchitis, asthma, and other lung related hospitalizations, all of which can be lethal. In addition to an increased incidence of SIDS.

The government has an

You just get funnier and funnier. I'm looking forward to your upcoming manifesto so everyone knows how to do everything correctly. Funny how the world isn't a video game and real people actually exist.

Also, the consumers have spoken for themselves! The restaurant and bar industry in NYC has thrived after the ban!

""Yet ten years later, fewer New Yorkers are smoking, we are living longer, our industries are thriving and nobody longs for a return to smoke-filled bars and restaurants."

You're hilarious. I love how you are so strongly for "freedom of choice" except the minute someone disagrees with you, you decide what is best for them, in my case, that someone should do something deliberately to antagonize me, and "blow smoke in my face." Ooooh, that will serve me right! That people have free choice

But workers are forced to work there. The smoking ban is to protect the workers, not consumers who are in and out in an hour.

Gosh, yes it's been horrible that 10,000 people have been spared a premature death from smoking because of the laws that were passed in NYC during the Bloomberg era. Or that banning indoor secondhand smoke (something that there is no risk free level of exposure to) prevents lung cancer in bar workers.

It's ok if

Good for you for living somewhere with better access to lung cancer and getting shot!

That's hilarious if you think consumers individually "choose" something that multibillion dollar corporations are programming them to do since birth. This is just a small counterweight.

This is the part I'm missing. She got on the plane and stowed her bag above.

You are that guy aren't you?

Planes only stay up in the air because of collective delusion. Don't stop believin'!

Weird. I'm not aware that getting on a plane and taking your seat after stowing your bag constitutes asshole behavior.

It sounds more like people are highly and strongly defensive about hearing about someone being shamed about their hateful behavior and prejudice.

Here's a hint, any time you say "someone deserved it"

Nope. The most obvious reason for him to say nasty things under his breath is that fat people are treated as less than human. I think you need to trust people when they tell you their experience and not devalue it or try to reframe the reality they inhabit every day.

Unless YOU ARE THAT GUY, in which case, just fess

Grace is the key for sure in a temporary situation where you're all forced to inhabit the same space. Thanks for being a mensch.

Right? On a plane. "His space".

Wow, after reading the comments it's like the guy on the plane is everyone here who is like "YOU'RE PROJECTING SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP YOU DESERVED IT."

This guy's behavior was not normal. He felt justified in abusing someone he considered beneath him, for just existing, and did it deliberately if passive

It's a plane. You share a row with other people. Normal non-asshole humans do this graciously. Because they're on a plane where you have to get up to allow people in and out of their seats.

And most people can tell when someone is being an unprovoked dick.

Thanks for the pro tip :)
