@Kyang: seconded. although, chrome I am still alright with address bar(so far). but I'm pretty sure that it's the pain in the ass for the average user. hope google will fix this one.

@CamJN: I'd be cautious.

@kondrik: thanks, I believe, I will use it in my next intallation. if someone else will stumble upon our converstation and they are as computer illiturate as I am they might find this: [techblissonline.com] usefull.

@vlatro: very good answer. didn't know about .nfo files. will use them since. thanks in advance

@chiruanna: pretty much what @TendoMentis said: watch some Bear Grylls. just to survive.

@luckycharms: just use Revo uninstaller whenever you can

@dhinerman: the insight of an economist

@drunken_meerkat: well, at least it's not as bad as in france, where you have to weight an item and print an attach a barcode to it, EVEN IF you are using a regular checkout. I remember me standing at the checkout and cashier trying to explain me something.... which was that I needed to print off myself.. then

@kondrik:wait.. how is this different from what I've told? Probably I wasn't clear enough. it would be stupid to copy the whole program and it's subfolders. What I meant was finding out where program stores it's user data files and copying those. sure, hunting those for each application each time you reinstall OS

@CamJN: how can you read anything red-on-green???

@Mutsumi Mitsuba: [simplynoise.com] the info should be there. but for me - I don't hear anything, that distracts me, no beat, no lyrics, no noise from around and I just on my own with my thoughts, if I have a monitor to concentrate on - that's even better

@kondrik: weeeeeeeeeellllll..... you could just copy the whole app folder into your new system(well, if it's the same OS). as far as I remember there were programs used to help you migrate from OS to OS(by transfering program files and probably adapting to new OS. sorry, can't provide the exact links. but search

@Eric: moreover, you get to exercise a bit!!!

@derilium: I keep choosing self check-out simply because I want to leanr how to use it quikly(if it's possible). And something almost always goes wrong. I usually buy quite larg quantities of stuff(at least half of a shopping cart worth of stuff) and self-checkouts are not made to use it in this case, but still. my
