The Democrat Jeff Klein is a Democrat in name only, in that he is a member of the IDC. IDC Dems are being primaried (much to the chagrin of Gov. Cuomo, who want the mainline Dems and the IDC to kiss and make up). So, if this ends up being Klein’s undoing, I won’t be at all upset. There is a real Democrat all set to

Great now maybe he can cast women who are equivalent to him in terms of attractiveness.

He wouldn’t surprise me. He is uber religious. And it is always the uber religious ones that get caught doing something awful.

Let’s not forget his defense of Anthony Weiner.

Thanks! So far I can only find sketchy websites with likely virus downloads that claim to have it.

I will look for it as well. But if you find it before I do, can you post a link to where I can find it? I will do the same.

I assume that the “they” you are referring to is the client. Please correct me if I am wrong. A lot of that depends on the jurisdiction, but generally, there are a lot of ways that lawyers can find themselves in trouble. More often than not, the client will not tell the lawyer that he/she/it is up to shenanigans if it

They are not required to report it. However, they are not allowed to support perjury either, should it become an issue. It becomes a tricky situation at trial, when a client wants to testify and plans to lie. The lawyer cannot prevent the client from testifying, but as an officer of the court is required to signal to

OMG. There are a ridiculous list of ethical rules in just about every jurisdiction for lawyers. And they cover everything from not aiding and abetting crimes/frauds upon the court, to running for office, to business dealings with clients, to how you do your banking. There is a whole separate section for judges.

The similarity is that both are expected to be advocates, regardless of personal feelings. And both can be sued and/or professionally disciplined for failing to advocate.

I blame him for the WAY he does his job, but not for doing it. And he wouldn’t have a job if we didn’t have so many redneck nutjobs in this country. The good news: many of them smoke. :-)

I doubt the Democrats would have done that. Not for altruistic reasons, mind you. But because it wouldn’t be in their best interests to do that. They would have been forced to back him up if he had stayed. However, I do not think that a Republican-led Ethics Committee investigation would have given him a fair shake.

A matter of opinion I suppose. I have more of a problem representing hate groups whose goal is to facilitate further oppression of marginalized groups than I do representing a company who offers a legal product whose risks are known and have been since the 1970s. As a matter of perspective, Gillibrand represented PM

He was pressured. He wasn’t forced. Just like there is a big difference between the scenarios you described, there is a difference between being pressured and being forced.

As much as I like Harris, I don’t want her to run this time. And Cory Booker actually sold us out to Big Pharma with his vote. I’ll vote for him over Trump, but not happily.

You mean like the ACLU?

Ok. So I did read it. Sorry for missing it earlier (lots of responses and comments). Her role was highly unusual for someone so junior. A couple of things:

Never mind, I found the other link.

I clicked on the link and it brought me back to this page, which I though was odd but shrugged it off and just wrote my response based on what I know about how large firms work. Associates are cogs in the wheel. Senior associates slightly less so, but it is the partners that call the shots, and the partners who bring

So no one who isn’t ideologically pure should have a lawyer. And Hot Take is the arbiter of who is worthy of representation in court. Got it.
