JEFF GOLDBLUM. Hot, Jewy, lanky, weird. My dream man.

As I have said multiple times, I do not think the attendant was doing anything with mean intentions at all. And no where did I say that I thought *he* was judging me. But I certainly do think that fat passengers are judged often and cruelly by their fellow passengers. And that ain't projection.
Again, that's great for you, I imagine different people are just going to feel differently about it. I do wonder though; if offering larger people roomier seats for free really becomes a thing, thin people would freak the fuck out. They are already always yelling about how we are ruining the health care system. This…
Come to think of it I have a dear pal with a prosthesis who gets around on it extremely well and actually, I think she would be pretty upset (more pissed off than sad) if someone saw her prosthesis and tried to offer her a wheelchair. Once she almost decked me when I asked her if riding a bike was hard.
I mean, I am not taking up two seats, but my leg is definitely going to touch the person next to me and sometimes move the armrest around a bit. I guess even with a size there are different body variations too. I have a (relatively) small waist and tummy area, but am very hippy and thighy. Not so great on airplanes.
Not really, because no one thinks having one leg is a moral failing.
Also a good point. That is my ultimate nightmare. I mean I have had actual nightmares about this.
This is a really excellent point. There are plenty of thin, average and large people who are inconsiderate and take up a lot of room because they are really not thinking about others at all. But I feel like thin people are given more of the benefit of the doubt, whereas if you are fat and get in anyone's way, people…
Exactly! I mean, I know he had the best of intentions, but it felt shitty. I am not trying to say he did anything purposefully unkind. I am just trying to help people to get a little insight about what it's like to be fat and out in the world (often pretty terrible and humiliating, due to others' attitudes).
That's great that works for you. It was embarrassing for me. I am not saying the guy did anything wrong. I know he was trying to be accommodating. I am trying to convey the experience of flying or hell, just being out in public for many fat people. A lot of us are trying to be as considerate as possible, but are still…
The attendant was very kind, but actually it was quite public and everyone for many rows in every direction saw and heard. So, still was pretty embarrassing. He didn't come over and whisper in my ear (not that he should have). The people across the row definitely craned their necks to see what was going on and listen…
Right? People have such a cartoonish, inaccurate vision of fat people. Like "Thin people! WE WANT ALL THE SEATS! And then we are going to eat cookies! NOM NOM NOM!"
Hey thin people: calm the hell down. Us fat people are not trying to steal all of your room. Jesus. Don't you get it? Flying is already freaking mortifying for us, do you really think I am going to push the armrest over to take up your whole seat if I can avoid it? Honestly, at this point I would gladly pay more just…
Right? I have been here 390723972 years and will forever be in the grey, but trolls always be posting directly to the top. Booo!
YES!!! I think a LOT women have secret (or in my case, TOTALLY PUBLIC) crushes on Goldblum. He's gorgeous and weird. My favorite combo. And he is still super hot!!
This is totally true. I work on a behavioral health unit, and some cultures (generally speaking of course) definitely have more somatic symptoms of depression. Depression generally just presents differently in different people, but this is especially true along cultural lines. Peripherally related, this old NYT…
Have all of the people saying grad school actually been to grad school? Because I went to grad school and I want to scream "GET THE CONDO!!!" Would your savings totally cover grad school? Because if not, grad school will just leave you with a bunch of debt. And unless you really need a master's in your field, I just…
I have been with the same guy on and off for almost 9 years and seem locked in this totally unhealthy doomed love scenario. I can't even believe it when I type it! I am that girl. The one waiting on something that is never going to come through. The friend who you both pity and are sick of listening to. I barely even…
I don't fault Lisa for having this procedure, but I do have a major problem with the beauty standards of our society, which are so gross and stringent that they prompt so many to feel they are not enough. I understand that people gotta do what they gotta do in order to feel good about themselves. But sorry, every time…
I hope this show lasts forever, just so I can keep reading these recaps.
