That is showing a side impact test.

Strictly speaking, a railgun isn’t operated by rows of electromagnets. That would be what is called a coil gun.

My guess is they have some kind of hybrid missile-projectile in mind that would allow them to put more ordnance on target at a lower unit cost. Unless you have a barrel the size of the Burj Khalifa, it would have to have some kind of rocket assist, and at that range, some kind of terminal guidance would be necessary

This car can kind of suck it. I don’t blame Jalopnik for doing what they’re doing - they’re the media and they’re media-ing. I blame Toyota for being so fucking coy about this thing.

Everything that i keep reading about this car is leading me to believe its going to be a bigger let down than the new NSX. As someone who owned an original NSX and a MKIV Supra, I have eagerly awaited these cars to where I had a deposit on the new NSX, i probably wont make the same mistake with this car.

How did you manage to do this safely? Did you just not go into many parking lots? I honestly don’t think I could manage this in LA at all without holding up traffic and risking getting hit.

They said they found a trace of something. That’s more than enough to shut the whole thing down and tear it apart.

I’m pretty sure I could send in a ten year old and they could figure it out.  If anything tell em to talk to the agent for help.

Do airports still not have signs that say “unloading/loading only?” and “do not leave your vehicle unattended?” This guy should have known better.

The key to this story and why it went so overboard is somehow they found a “trace” of something on the car that required the bomb squad to check it out.

Yeah, I was stuck at the Phoenix airport yesterday for over 8 hours thanks to this dipshit. Thanks dumbass. My flight was ultimately delayed and then canceled, so I got to fly to another airport near my destination, just to learn by bag never made it. Still feeling the effects of it now.

the driver, who was never named by police, “thought only a few minutes had passed” after he left the rental car to help his girlfriend check in for her flight

Ya. They (US Navy) only wish those ships were dry...

Patuxent is in Maryland.  (Unless, did they move it?)

...on a quick stop to refuel...

earlier editions were underwhelming

When I think of the SE-R, it’s this one. CP on today’s offering.

Maybe at $3,000 it’s a nice price. But $4,700? No dice.
