Those engines made pretty decent torque for the time....generally more tq than HP

Thank you.

EVen with the turbo that is one big ass car for 145 measly horses. There is absolutely nothing performance about it.

Extensive paintwork. Never been vacuumed. CP.

Not sure you should draw any conclusion from that story but old mini’s are complete POS.

I think one problem with your assumption is that the “average Joe” will always have the same skillset. I mean, add a laptop and the right cable to your basic toolkit and you can suddenly do a whole lot of stuff with a modern car if you have that skillset, and a lot of young folks do. Hell, I bet the next generation is

Two new cars *can* be more reliable than one newer car. If you’re lucky.

This is a stupid fucking argument. Everyone needs to take stats and learn issues of probability.

A 4000 car wouldn’t put you into dept. Honda fits are cheap when they are used

This. Nobody’s talking about points and condensers here. Comparing late 90s’s / 2000's to 2010's is where the question gets interesting.

U can still get a cheap reliable car today. The Honda Fit is a great example.

Newer cars are more reliable, hands down. They require maintenance, and you can’t fix a ton on your own, unless you have a specific skill set, and you’re rarely going to be able to fix it on the side of the road with duct tape and spit.

Newer cars, even FCA cars, last way way longer. Older cars are easier and cheaper to maintain because a lack of fancy electronics, but newer ones will go longer with less TLC. I didn’t know people debated this. Hm.

buying a new used car is WAY more reliable than an old used car. Car Design and the software to better design them has improved leaps and bounds in the last ten years. a Kia today will rust to dust before it has any expensive gremlins (and an 8 year 80,000 mile warranty that will transfer to the new owner if the

I’d rather pick the car that enables me to walk away from a nasty crash

Do you have proof of any of these claims?

Like the Tundra winning the Baja 1000? What Baja 1000? I seem to recall a Ford TT won the overall race in 2017. Everywhere I search agrees.

Are we talking about a different class?

And the Mint 400?

Ford’s press release from the 2017 Mint 400 claims they won the race and were the

If I want a Raptor ... I want a Raptor.

Buying the Tundra is like buying a fake Rolex. With extra hands on the face.

“You can’t REALLY tell the difference, can you?”

As long as the frame doesn’t rust. That was supposed to be isolated to 1st gen tundras and tacomas, but I have 2 friends having the frames on their later 2nd gen trucks being replaced

I’ve always thought that Toyota trucks were a bit overpriced. A month ago, I spent a day offroading a new Tacoma 4x4 with a TRD Offroad (offroad sport?) package. I don’t know how much the owner paid, but it looks like near $40,000. The truck was well optioned.

It may be cheaper but it’s old as hell now. I’d rather go used Raptor. But even then that’s if you can find a used one for a good price.
