Most states don’t have castle doctrine and it only extends to your property. He was no longer in/on her property and no longer attempting to violate her “castle”. Even in a place with ultra liberal castle doctrine she would not have a basis for defense.

In no way was she defending herself. Any judge that does this is not a very good judge. This deserves a jury trial, a conviction, and maybe leniency by the judge due to circumstances but honestly I would rather see her get the same sentence a man would get if he did this which would probably land around 5 - 10 years.

I really don’t think this particular scenario passes the automotive smell test in Texas. Maybe if she was in the car when he was trying to break in or carjack her. Or the car was on her own property.

Changes the amount of time he can serve. Nothing about it’s content matters when it comes to the fact she should be charged and locked up. Someone that would do this because they are mad belongs off the road and probably out of society for a while.

He shouldn’t be a thief but I hope she is charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault.

Jeep wrangler probably has more interior space than a patriot. The JKU has over 70ft^3 cargo space. I can’t imagine a Patriot even reaching 60. At best it might average 2mpg more if it has 4wd optioned based on it’s rating. I average 19-20mpg unless I go off road or do an abnormal amount of city driving.

If not…

It has back seats...even the 4 door is relatively small for it’s class.
