I doubt that most of them actually believed anything of the sort, which is entirely the problem with knee-jerk cries of racism (and other isms) that the internet facilitates. People falling all over themselves to demonstrate their moral superiority in even the flimsiest of circumstances.

It seems more than a little bit slut-shaming to casually assert that "all women" should ignore men trying to pick them up on the subway. Do you speak for all women ? Judging from the fact that subway pickups at least sometimes work, it seems that some women are open to being picked up on the subway. Is that an

How many death or rape threats to do you see on Facebook, at least under people not posting from sock puppet accounts? De-anonymizing may not be a solution to "being a massive douche," but it's certainly a deterrent against criminal conduct. Maybe de-anonymizing Twitter isn't the answer, and it's certainly something

Yeah, I had the same thought— just what kind of "investigation" is necessary at this point?

Because Blizzard can't change its mind, ever? Warcraft was an RTS at one point, Blizzard's statement to the contrary doesn't mean it can't ever go back to that.

Not sure if serious but I miss the hell out of that game.

Ok, true. Revise above to say that I don't believe that he'll actually stay dead for very long.

I don't believe for a second that he's actually dead. Melisandre will revive him just like Thoros revived Beric Dondarrion (at which point he will have fulfilled his vow to the Night's Watch, which ended with his death).

Maybe so, but I think part of the problem is how much the narrative has gotten away from him since the first book. It's pretty clear reading A Game of Thrones that he anticipated Dany getting to Westeros and Jon's parentage being revealed much sooner, and this interminable drag through the last few books has

Unless GRRM decides to change it because everyone has figured it out. The hints in the first book alone were so blindingly obvious that I picked it up on my first read-though, and I do not claim to be a particularly perceptive individual. But it's beyond annoying that he persists in playing coy about a point that

Whether guaranteed or not, Berkeley does get a ton of community college transfer students.

I didn't say it did, though this cover copies STID in more than the abstract use of negative space— the protagonist's pose, the city ruins, etc. The box is fine but it's hardly as original as these comments are suggesting.

It looks exactly like the Star Trek Into Darkness poster, except with a dragon. Don't see why everyone's so excited about it.

You didn't finish the article, did you? Lowe is leaving in part because of his issues with Trowe.

I don't see how you could reach that conclusion having read the books. He's completely in love with her in the early books, though their relationship does change as he comes to see how manipulative she is in the later ones.

Really, the one person who's suggested something that might actually make the slightest difference is being an asshole? Donating to relief funds might actually make some victim's life suck a little less next week; praying and hoping and whatever other superstitious nonsense you want to indulge in does nothing but

The broader point still stands; even if we accept your argument that GoT tech is where real world tech was 700 years ago, the difference is so small in comparison to the scope of recorded history as to be attributable to random error.

I disagree except insofar as I'd agree that the first one remained scary throughout in part because you never got a really good look at the crawlers; just quick, usually dark glimpses or silhouettes. Contrast that with the sequel, which gave us long, lingering closeups on all the latex masks and was just silly.

"Oversensitive" is a gross understatement of what you are.
