"That being said, they are the nicest group of guys I've ever met. You just bought a V4 96? Well, hell! Come on over and have a look through all my spare parts. Whatever you want is just $10/part. "
Agreed. While some of his PR BS pisses me off sometimes I can't deny the attention he has helped to draw to Rally in America.
I can't do anything behind the wheel without flawless notes in my ear...
he's reading the Jemba Notes, We drive the roads at regular speed and write down notes about everything going on.. Using this "language"http://www.jemba.se/notesUSA.htm
It seems that almost everyone shuts up and starts having a good time once the cars start running. It's those precious minutes of closed road between the 000 and the first car out that seem to get everyone all riled up with righteous fury that they can't go out shopping for an hour. That said, I won't be shocked at all…
Fuck Me I've never seen a chicane handled so beautifully! I was in the 000 course car. http://welovemotoring.com/blog/2014/04/2…
Oh, I trust you, Matt. I've never done anything more than road course racing so to me every rally course looks like a chain of "oh shit" moments. You rally guys really know how to make your cars dance on the edge of a knife.
ya man I'm horrible I need more dirt 3 sim training I think, O' Neil and Knox suck they didn't do a very good job teaching me how to make the wheel turn and stuff.
If you could hear their radio, he's calling out instructions from his pace notes. Notice how the driver knows to slow down before he even sees a corner over a crest, or keep pushing it through a blind turn? The navigator is constantly calling out what's coming up next. He'll shout things like "hard right, 100 yards"…
Ah yes, I meant at this rally. Had the pleasure of seeing it run at BRS last year and I was amazed to see it pop up at start control on Sunday morning. Triumphant return indeed! I imagine there was some furious midnight wrenching involved with that.
Quick comment to those of you judging the minor mid-air steering wheel position adjustment. First it was not "to-lock" as someone said. If you pause the video you'll see the correction pointed the wheels EXACTLY down the road where we NEEDED to be going, however since launched from left of crest aimed a smudge right…
that's how we kept the car on the road... Trust me.. A boulder on the left wanted to meet our car...
guarantee you he can drive too... With notes like those... Well only a driver that really truly knows weight transfer at a serious level can deliver notes like that on the fly.... He doesn't just read a booklet...

By debut do you mean "triumphant return?" He ran the event last year and a few other rallies since. He stuffed it on the practice stage Friday, which is why he wasn't racing Saturday.
You're riding with Matt Brandenburg AND ELLIOTT (MOTHAHFUKN) SHERWOOD of BRAKIM Racing :) Thanks Raphael!! :)
