Good to hear from you. Every time I mention my faith on here, I duck and cover because of past experiences. :) Mark Driscoll isn't just a your average conservative megachurch dude - the guy's a monster. The stories coming out of Mars Hill are just horrible, especially in treatment to women. Best to cut their ties

THANK YOU. I had someone in this thread ask me what I was doing wrong, since every firm they knew of was desperate for people. Super supportive, thanks friend. It's tough out there, isn't it? Where are you located? Chicago here.

Seriously, can't thank you enough for taking the time to share all of that with me. I'm most definitely going to look into this and see if it's not a route I could take. You've helped me immensely, thank you!

Fabulous advice, thank you SO much. I actually started my website this week! This is so helpful to sending me in the right direction. Thank you again!

By the way, not like it matters, but I'm not even necessarily interested in corporate PR, which is kind of the stereotypical go-to when talking about PR. The beauty of PR (and one of the reasons I picked it) is because I can work in fashion, entertainment, international PR, nonprofit is one I've definitely got my eye

Okay. Well, my degree is in public relations, so I'm looking for a job in that field. Unfortunately, I'll be the bullshitter you'll be dealing with. Apologies, but such is life.

As someone of faith (I know, it's rare. It's a freaking Jesus unicorn) I have to say I'm SO ecstatic to see Driscoll forced out. This guy was an embarrassment and incredibly dangerous to so many people that crossed his path. Good on Acts 29 for removing him.

That suggestion is difficult to even understand because how exactly can plus-size consumers prove they will or won't buy designer collections if no one is making them in the first place?

Hahahaha, I have to tell you I'm in the middle of this thread over on another post about looking for a job right now. Getting a lot of tips and tricks and ideas about how to get my foot in the door from a lot of people, and I genuinely thought someone was telling me to act out in a spectacular fashion. That miiiight

I appreciate your comment, thanks! I've been looking at internships for degree holders. And I have NO problems being at the very bottom of the totem pole. I have to start somewhere. Glad to hear that wrote worked for you. Thank you for the support! :)

Well, I've only officially been looking for a few weeks since I've relocated to Chicago, but aside from cover letters, a professionally written resume, calls about informational interviews, PRSA networking, joining meetup groups that are PR-based, etc. etc. etc....I am well aware I have to go the extra mile in a

Yeah, I'm noticing that as I've searched, you're so right! They're harder to find, but that may just have to be my next step. :)

Any friend of Hogwarts is a friend of mine! :)

Yeah, I've applied to a few, actually. It's hard to get in with good ones, but you mentioning that reminded me I need to get back at that aspect, too. Love hearing that you and a friend had good experiences with temps leading to something else. Gives me a little hope. :)

It was a blast! FYI: maybe next time you approach someone less rudely. You and I seem to actually agree on the topic, so why be snarky from the get go?

Thank you kindly for the advice! Didn't think about seeking out the publications the firms work with!

Yup! I'm in Chicago, only been here a few months, but trying to hit the ground running and apply to all the things!

So agree. My sister and I took 14 years of dance but every year were reminded we could stop at any point. I played instruments and I was encouraged to practice (duh, they were paying for it, I can't blame them) but not forced to continue playing. I asked to take piano lessons. I also asked to play softball and played

Absolutely, thank you! And continued luck to you!

Hahaha, I appreciate you taking the time to write all of that! I misunderstood & thought you were already working, but all of this is good to hear either way. I do need to step up my freelance game for SURE.
