Operating cost for the helicopter is about $1500/hr. Standard rate would be double with minimum of two hours, so $6000. 4 guys on board (pilot, co-pilot, crew chief, swimmer) standard rate about $900-1000 for the pilots and probably the swimmer also, so call it $4000. So at least a $10,000 bill from the coasties.

Auto jobs are not low paying jobs, the auto unions made sure of that. They pay at least $25/hr to literally install one part on a car.
