My tuned 4th gen Subaru Legacy GT (2005) has occasionally hit the fuel cutoff in first gear, but it’s an automatic that’s not even in manual shift mode. If you get on the throttle hard it’ll forget to shift and go straight past the rev limiter and go into fuel cutoff which leaves you with no power until the rpm’s drop
