i had an ‘87 and loved that car. red with the gray plastic side skirts. bald tires and twisty roads and i was in heaven. surprise, surprise, came out for work one morning and the car was gone. not even a pile of broken glass, just plain gone. called the cops, the response was “hmmm, 3rd one this week...”.

50% GM, seems legit

how about Jay Kay?

is it just me or does this bear a striking similarity to the pope-mobile?

is that the “mojave sand” body color? how is the ride noise?

my exact thought...

Finbar McBride

um, John Amsterdam anyone?

Jack Taylor!

did a mustang and a corvair get busy?

#murica

my first thought was “something french”, this will certainly qualify. i think that the french carefully looked at all the “standard” layouts for controls of a car, then decided to something completely different. not opposite, that would be too easy to figure out, but entirely different, with not discernible rational

i agree, i saw one of these pass by the other day and thought, you know what, 15 years on, and that car still looks pretty damn good.

um, yeah. i figured this would be like the 3rd response.

ditto on the pt cruiser. ok, i'll go sit in the corner now...

because the bmw x4/x6 and the honda accord crosstour did sooooooo wel

i saw an ad for a clown shoe recently, i think on ebay motors. the ad started something like "if you are reading this ad and don't know what this car is, it is probably not for you..."

i had one of these for about 3 years in the early 90's. then one morning i came out to go to work, and poof, no more car. reported it stolen, the response from the police was, "oh, i think that is the 4th one of those this week...". my only solace is that parts of my car are still probably running somewhere...

i still prefer the 1800 es, however i will admit that the coupe is even more out of place than the estate.
