making people accountable and exposing actions are journalists duty, dude. If you don't act nasty, you have nothing to concern yourself with.

point. Though I imagine Luke files it under SJW not because he believes in the term but as a direct attack AGAINST this toxic, entitled, self centered culture.

and if they can't deal with it, then pox on them because I have a lot more support now from people who will no longer tolerate harassment in this industry.

I am not going to self segregate because some douche bags find my presence threatening. No. I am here and "gamers" will just have to deal that I am sharing their space.

segregate myself? No thanks.

yes GGX. But the culture was so toxic And anti-woman I had to leave. I was tired of watching men act like children and treat me as an anomaly / outlier / threat / piece of ass and I was tied of others standing silently as this harassment persisted. So I left, only a year into making solid wins. It wasn't worth it. And

tbh, variety is not at all what we've been seeing since 89 and it's time that system changed and people stopped being so resistant to change.

as a former GGX professional competitor; I have encountered this so called "gamer" culture and based on personal experience as well as that of others, it is indeed toxic and alienating to those who don't fit a predefined mold designed by this culture itself - harassing and antagonizing each other and outsiders. This

Your idea of a good game is diff from others. More variety won't threaten the genres you enjoy.

what are you talking about?

You can't fool me or anyone with any common sense that "Gamers" have any actual legitimacy; not when everyone except for self identified "Gamers" recognize that particular culture. And when an identity ceases to have power and meaning with those who aren't associated, well... It becomes meaningless.

Great. Then start defining your group by the genre you like, not by using a blanket term like 'gamers'. Which is to say- we are all gamers, you can no longer monopolize it by saying "NO- you are only a gamer if you are/think/do this and this and this..." Which is utter phooey.

projecting and deflecting. And hot mess Cinderella, which had nothing to do with this dialogue, is based on a Kristin wiig skit.

She hasn't lied. She has looked at it from a very broad lens and pointed out issues that women who play games all agree on.

if you want to be take seriously, start holding members of your self identified culture accountable for giving you guys a bad rep. Silence is just as evil as harassment- or have you forgotten what a fascist state looks like?

I have seen nothing but great ugliness by the "gamers" in their conquest to dehumanize women so that they do not feel guilty when they cause these women suffering in a video game and the real world

that's not it at all. People stopped watching because her shocking dissection made people confront a very real ugly problem that all of us are responsible for in our culture. And instead of feeling guilty, forgiving th selves and moving into become better people- they attack out entirely because it's easier to attack

Luke, thank you. I am so glad that good people like you and others are beginning to see how horrible this culture that thrives on the freedom to threaten others truly is.

the problem is this "gaming" culture exercising it's ability to speak freely does not hold itself accountable for using that same right to harass intimidate insult and actually stalk other people- particularly women.

A culture that thrives on threatening others is feeling threatened in a post-ferguson America. Imagine that
