Hey that’s a fair point to make, but it’s still less than optimal comportment by a quarterback, and not really an explanation, that others are losing their self-control too.
I’m not a 100% fan of Kevin, but overall he’s had a rough ride and did well despite the constraints, the cutbacks at the Union-Tribune, the management changes, the strictures that they speak in favour of the Chargers stadium proposals, the requirement that he tread lightly and protect his access with the Spanoses. It…
He’s an amazingly good and patient kids’ coach (NFL Flag, not Pop Warner, interestingly.) Enthusiastic, warm, very positive. That being said, you can find Mr. Rivers on the field in Poway—coaching his kid’s team—on a lot of nights of the week during the LA Chargers football season.
Thank goodness there are still men like you willing to lecture professional athletes about the right way to be professional athletes. Being the assistant to the regional manager isn’t the same as working with psychotically competitive football players.
At least this post isn’t 20,000 words. It’s a start is what I am saying.
Is it really bad soccer teams that do this? I see it all the time in MLS and...oh, nvm...
Counterpoint: that’s where I hide the weed/pills.
If you are in Colorado, I would recommend the Chile & Frijoles Festival in Pueblo.
At the very least you are getting audited this year.

The Atlanta United have a chance to become something special, a champion in a city which has known little success in sports. Just about every sports team that is/has been in Atlanta fits the description of people like me who live here: more than 50 percent of the people living here are not from Atlanta originally…
People rightly moan about Wenger for a lot of reasons, not developing players to the extent that he did in years past is one example, but you’ve really got to give him his due for turning an Ox 12 months away from leaving on a free into 40 odd million scouse pounds. Ignore the fact this money will likely disappear…
This isn’t really on topic but, I’ve been watching a lot more soccer lately and am looking to learn a little more about what each player is supposed to do on and off the ball, how each formation should work, etc. Does anyone have any solid suggestions?
Ox has one game where you think he’s on the cusp of being a force of nature (this peaked with his MoTM performance in the 2015 Community Shield). A lot of the time, he has a knack for his movement on or off the ball to be precisely the opposite of where he should go. His passing in the final third and his finishing…
God, this is painful to watch. (Your writing, not the video.)
This is a bad take
It should have been you, Zack Hample.
No quarterback receives the level of excusing for his mistakes that Eli Manning does. Clean pocket, bad pass... but it’s the line’s fault. Or the receiver’s fault.
I’ve wondered for a while if he’d get the same treatment if his name was Eli Russell or Eli Cutler.
