I’m a Spurs supporter, and I’m the last person to back up Billy, but I think you’re missing the point here. He agrees with your premise—that the current Spurs squad is fantastic and able to compete with anyone.

Really? Because after Lovren got subbed off, the Reds’ defense was still getting destroyed on the break by Kane/Son/Eriksen.
These are some good points, but I think it’s foolish to think that Man U wouldn’t spend $150M+ to get Harry. Because they definitely would. The question is whether he would leave Spurs for United, City, Chelsea. I don’t think he would. If he leaves, it’ll be to Real or Barca.
Refuse to pay and forced to sell are different issues. While Spurs have a unique wage policy, players like Modric and Bale likely would have been gone even with higher wages at Spurs. When you play for ANY of the “big” teams in England, when Madrid or Barca come calling, it’s hard to say no. (See, Ronaldo, Cristiano).
FYI, Trump was elected President if you’re just waking up out of a coma.

Get your fries well done. What is this, amateur hour?
You, and most amateurs, need to be alerted of the ability to order your fries there “well done.” Changes the game, my friend.
Carleton was fantastic in this match. His box-to-box skills were a joy to watch. I’m going to be keeping an eye on him. Also, shout out to Chris Goslin who had a hell of a match sitting in front of the back four, and Akil Watts—who looks like he could give Yedlin a run for his money in a few years. Bring these boys…
It doesn’t mean you’re wrong. I’ll take Yedlin, too. The rest can go with their highly successful careers in the MLS.
Welcome to Kinja, young buck.
“Thanks Obama.”
Must’ve learned it watching Kieran Tripper from the bench last season. Mostly joking, but the tackle to win the ball and the final ball there were world-class. Too bad Walker still doesn’t have a left foot, and often slows the movement of the ball.
If they had VAR, then Dortmund’s first goal would have been disallowed, as the build-up was clearly offside. You win some, you lose some. Spurs were the much better side in the second half, and could have had 2-3 more goals. Fair play.
This is a poor rationale. In the best leagues, of which Pulisic is from, teams often play Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and then again on Saturday/Sunday.
Love your writing, and this is a great article, but I actually thought that this was one of Pulisic’s worst games in recent memory. Held the ball up poorly, lost it multiple times when we were countering on the break, and got pushed around way too often. Loved his passion, but he let the time-wasting/general…
Saw her/them open for Trombone Shorty a few months before she passed away. I can’t imagine how sick she must have been at the time, but she was full of energy and positivity. What a performance. RIP.
Surprising move from such a stand-up organization.
Harry is the most indispensable. No question. Second is a very close call, but those who watch Spurs regularly know they Mousa Dembele is the engine that drives the team. Absolute beast in the middle of the park.
Because Billy wrote it, that’s why. You can always expect a HOT SOCKER TAEK.
