Never forget Oddibe.
Never forget Oddibe.
All San Diego beers, may I add.
Yeah, Holtby is actually one of my favorite players on the squad. Unfortunately, I just don't see how he can solidify himself into a starting role—especially if Spurs follow through with acquiring Schneiderlin (we have a dearth of midfield talent). Last year when things weren't going too well, Holtby was one of the…
Goddamn, the slip was tough to watch. I sure as hell hope it doesn't define his career. Growing up as a defensive midfielder, I used to marvel at the way Gerrard could completely dominate a game from a deep-lying position, and still manage to get upfield (and into the box) to score goals. Watching him helped me…
I'm afraid for you guys. Gerrard has been one of my favorite/most inspiring players growing up, but it's obvious he's reaching the end of the line. And though your squad is in a great place with youngsters like Coutinho/Sterling, and Sturridge up front, I can't help but think that losing Suarez will affect all of…
What concerns me more is the justification for the commenting system updates of the past few years. We were told that these changes were enacted to facilitate a more comment-friendly site, and open up the commenting platform to more new readers.
I'll cheers to that. I totally agree with you on Ramos, he always seems to want to dribble out of the back and force an upfield connection. Because of this, he ends up putting himself in goalscoring positions—and scores more than your typical CB. As I said though, I believe he's vastly overrated (primarily because of…
You're out of your mind. I strongly dislike Real, but there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that Ramos and Pepe are—at the very least—quite above average. It seems as if you're making this claim based solely off World Cup results. Everyone knows that Pepe is a moron, and susceptible to a red card on pretty much any…
Modric actually prefers sitting back and collecting the ball from deep, so it seems as if he'd be quite an efficient pairing alongside Kroos—who gets upfield nicely.
Let's not get carried away here. Chelsea would get destroyed by this Madrid squad.
Varane, Pepe, Ramos, Carvajal, Arbeloa, Marcelo and Coentrao. Not sure how many defenses in the world you think might be better than that.
Cali-Belgique is good, but have you had the Sublimely Self-Righteous Black IPA? There is a god.
If you'd actually read, you would realize I haven't defended Cameron in this thread—I'm merely stating an actual FACT. But no matter what arbitrary opinion you'd like to posit, Bradley was nowhere near terrible according to nearly every metric. Go play football manager, scrub.
You're truly hopeless.
You seriously just made this a racial matter? And for the record—as if it weren't already clear that you're out of your mind—the U.S. actually had more possession in the game. You're probably also unaware that soccer teams have 11 players on the field, and fielding one defensively strong player won't be a decisive…
That's a good point. Yet, I wish a lot of these "experts" would just keep their mouths shut. Bradley was phenomenal today.
I'm solely talking about Bradley in my previous post. That being said, I don't fault Dempsey at all. We essentially played a 5-4-1 today, and his service was limited—at best. All of our attacks came from slow, progressive build ups that started with our central mids (Bradley) coming back to our defenders to collect…
"SUCH AN AMAZING BALL BY... Oh wait, that was Bradley? Psh, lucky."
The unfortunate thing is that we aren't Real Madrid, and we don't have 6 incredible attacking central midfielders at our disposal. As such, our best midfield talent—Bradley—slots into that role, in addition to playing his typical defensive duties.
105 touches, second most on the field today (Cameron was first). And an 88% passing completion rate. Pretty terrible, huh? Go play some Football Manager, jesus christ.
