Agreed. Good points.
Yeah, that's what I figured. Damn.
Indeed.
That's an incredible vehicle, elaborate beyond belief. I've seen it a number of times at the Blackhawk.
Can anyone explain to me why Jalopnik hates Tesla so much instead of being encouraging? I wouldn't say the company (or Elon Musk) does everything right, but sometimes you have to be crazy to make a crazy idea work. I've been very impressed by the Roadster and the way it drives and I hear very good things about the…
I live not far from the Menlo Park plant and see Teslas almost every day, and have never had a bad experience with a Tesla driver. Just anecdotal disagreement here.
Don't oust me for this but Speedhunters does a few "competitions" every year for reader cars where there's a nomination period and then an article where people vote with a simple poll. For a top 10, you could just rank by number of votes. I'd support it!
It's not all finalized, but it's not vaporware.
I think you're making this out to be a lot more simple than it is. Depending on the part, replicating it in CAD can be a long and complicated process, especially for features that are curved like arbitrary splines - you just sort of have to guess at the specific curvature.
Teach me your ways! I want to learn how to machine and I don't get to spend much time doing it until my upper-div classes . . . it's crap.
Yep - even for engineers, some of this stuff is harder than just scanning something. I can vouch Solidworks-wise that there are a lot of details that a scanner probably wouldn't "understand."
Goodness gracious . . .
Ugliest Ginetta G4 ever.
That is the most fantastic news I've heard in a while (if it's true, of course).
They've been testing mules for at least a year (if not much more, I'm not sure), if that's what you're talking about. The only things to be finalized are trim and minor appearance, as far as I know - I've seen the car and I'm pretty sure the drivetrain is completely finalized.
Agreed.
"You see it on things like this Shelby GT 500 and it just screams ‘60s sports car."
That car will go faster than you'd believe.
Fair enough, my mistake.
