Maybe you're right, but the picture shows a shiny aluminum-like finish on the carbon. Maybe a semi-metallic clear coat?

Thanks!

I measured first, didn't seem to fit in any orientation. I could be wrong, but I think it was about 3" too wide.

"blue carbon fiber body with aluminum finish"

This is my car, currently. I'd rather have multiple colors on one panel than multiple panels of multiple colors.

You could hold a constant speed with engine braking or with mechanical braking, but either way it's the wheels holding the car back, and the car wanting to lean forward, so both would cause the suspension to compress. I suppose which wheels are driven makes a difference though.

They make other cars.

It is very large in person, but it does look alright. The body kit is a little boy-racer though, to be honest; it's not that well-integrated.

Really great piece. Straightforward, well-written, and engaging.

That was the previous owner's attempt at a fix. I went to the hardware store and spent 87 cents on screws and washers. Problem solved.

This bracket holds my bumper on. Evidently it wasn't enough, so I tried to fix it (see reply).

Well now I feel properly, thoroughly stupid. Thanks for taking the time to provide the info and the link, although I couldn't quite wrap my head around all of it.

You're right, I wasn't considering cyclic compression, I was thinking about it more as a static system (in error, of course). Thanks for the insight. I'm in quarter 1 of my second year of ME. I haven't been able to take materials yet, but I have Materials and Strength of Materials lined up for next quarter.

Excellent writing! This whole piece was great - the meat products motif, the description of your role, and the way you put the reader into your shoes. Truly fantastic stuff, thanks so much for sharing. This is why I read Jalopnik.

I'll take it! My inevitably attractive companion will just have to deal with the Jerry cans full of gas that she'll have in her lap. How else will we get to Vegas?

Let's do a math check here:

Bought my car that way.

He's braking in the middle of turns - why would he buy a GT2 RS, the most hardcore Porsche you can buy?

Amazing how this entire idea was ignored. Thanks for pointing out the inherent tendencies of China today.

Agreed.
