It usually isn't the worst country to live in... None of the men were ethnically Norwegian, but that shouldn't really matter. Norwegian men might act like animals too, when they're drunk. (I don't know if that's better or worse.) Street harrassment isn't that common here, even in Oslo, but it does happen.

I can't find the edit button on my cellphone, but I'd like to edit/ add: he was touching her hair and kissing her cheek. He was really agressive.

This might be somewhat long (I apologize in advance):

OK, so let's not all be smart. I'll let you brew in your prejudice, and the rest of us will do our best to keep society going.

Well said.

To some of you: please don't post cat gifs or talk about what you're going to do to make yourself feel better after reading this. If you're going to turn soak in a bath, eat chocolate and tune out the world... Please keep that to yourself. This story isn't about you or your feelings.

Please don't go there. Most men are great people, and being angry at an entire gender for what some fucked up individuals did is not helping our case at all. We're all people, so let's be civilised and smart.

Posters are great, but they don't do much for a woman's safety if rapists are allowed to roam around as they please. I can't believe that a country that allows this to happen on a gran scale also has the gall to think itself civilised.

Also, in Johannesburg, it isn't "just" date rape. The problem is that brutal, violent gang rapes are considered to be a sport. It's just for fun. The rapists kidnap women and take them away to be raped. They call it "jackrolling", and they think it's no big deal. The state of safety for women in Johannesburg is beyond

I lived i Beijing for 18 months, and in Guangxi province for 3 months.

You don't need a boyfriend to visit China — not even the remote parts — but you eed to speak the language. At least to some degree, because most Chinese people don't speak any English. This is especially true outside Beijing and Shanghai.

This is a terrible story, but I think the main reasons it's getting attention are because:

That doesn't make any sense. She was travelling by herself (alone), but as far as we know, she wasn't lonely. Also, loneliness kills only in the way that it extreme forms can make you depressed and suicidal. (Again, loneliness, not aloneness.)

No Diggity, no doubt.

Seriously. Rape is already tainted with all sorts of stupid, old fashioned notions that a rape victim is "unpure," and people are stupid. If the victim's name is made public, she will become famous over this thing. She'll be hounded online, offline, harassed. And for what? For being the victim of a crime. I'm so

What the fuck. Why do we need this? Why?

I was thinking about "Brave," and I think it's a great movie, but consider the plot... The main character is fighting to break stereotypes, and to decide her own destiny. She's fighting to basically achieve something all boys take for granted. There would never be a film like this for boys. Boys are allowed to go out

Two things:

Holy fuck, I want to smack him upside the head with his own handbag and stupidity. The stupidity is probably the heaviest, and would hurt the most, because goddamn is that man stupid!

Haha! Yes!
