I suppose it's important to understand what your communication issues are like and what they mean to you. Specifically, when communication goes wrong, what emotions and thoughts come into you? Through these episodes, do you feel respected, at the very least? Do you often argue about the same things over and over?

I'm rediscovering The Naked and Famous. I'm surprised at how listenable it is. If I want to focus on it and ruminate, I can. If I just want it in the background, it easily goes there. The variety of theme, melody, and rhythm keeps things fresh without becoming scattered or unfocused.

I am in this precise situation, except I'm now in my late 30's. My last relationship was also supposed to be "the one" until it went down like the Hindenburg, only with less humanity and more inanity.
