Already subscribed. And the former Escapist staffers are doing the same thing.

The experience of reading this article on this site reinforces the decision. The design of this site (perfection - literally interrupted typing at this moment by a full-screen popup ad) is hostile to the act of consuming the content I’m here to see.  I’m patently shocked the article was allowed to be posted here.

I’m glad they decided to include a comments section. 404media is another recently-launched site from former Waypoint staff that has amazing articles, but they excluded comments. Even if the comments are from the dumbest people in the world, the inclusion is a great way to juice engagement

A) I love how petty this post is. I mean that. Saying that the reading and commenting experience on G/O Media sites has taken a massive shit in recent years would be an understatement.

I liked Andromeda well enough in spite of how tedious it was, but man, it is just hard for me to trust Bioware to make a competent game with a halfway decent story.

It never went away, it just got it’s own channel!

not to mention Liara basically mind melds with Shepherd right before the final battle on Earth, probably backed Shep up like Spock did to McCoy in Wrath of Khan.

I mean, if you really wanted to justify Shepherd existing in some sense six centuries later, there’s the fact that Shepherd already died once and she was retrofitted with considerable cybernetics to bring her back. Plus, in 2/3 of the viable endings she merges, in a sense, with the God-Computer.

But what will I do with a site that's not pushing video aggressively

Holy crap. This just keeps happening.

Hopefully they bring back Sunday Comics

Well, do I have some news for you... It’s still going, just Patreon supported:

its a little expensive

You weren’t kidding about the Escapist. Good lord, what a bloodbath.

Welp, see you over there. That’s likely a wrap for me at Kotaku.  Just subscribed to the second tier.

VERY cool, this model has worked really well for the other folks who have tried it.
Literally coincidently, I was pruning Patreon subs this morning. Definitely willing to send some money their way to support them and see how this goes.

Hell yeah, I’m surprised you guys are allowed to post this. I gotta clear up some funds for their subscription. Maybe I have some Patreons I’m not paying attention to anymore.

Timely news, especially after the exodus from The Escapist the other day.

oh HELL yeah

Sounds promising! Wish them the best of luck! As a daily consumer I would gladly pay a small-ish amount for good content without the ridiculous ad-farm that some sites fall victim to (not mentioning names lol).
