I love things like this if only because inevitably there is some tiny group of people that have been holding a candle for years that this becomes a completely unexpected Christmas for.

I don’t mind Stealth being passive, but that translocator change is garbage.

All of this leads to her one new ability called Virus, which is a skill shot move that damages enemies over time. If you’ve already landed a hack or EMP on an enemy, the Virus will do more damage.

Once again overwatch is watering down gameplay. This change can be boiled down to automating player choice to lower the skill ceiling while pushing the skill floor so you can touch both without moving.

I’m in total agreement. They had already been picking away at what made her interesting, but the change to the Translocator really just kills my interest in playing her much. Maybe it’ll feel better than I imagine, but she may have just dropped from my choice pool.

Haven't played OW (or OW2) in a few years, but this sounds like shit (par for the course I guess).

I mean Ban means woman , and Banshees were women , which didnt stop Marvel using the name for a male character (who was written by someone who had never actually met and Irish person in their life) , so ..thanks for that (at least DCs Silver Banshee is actually a woman)

Irish person here , I did but Scots and Irish gaelic is close enough that the proper pronunciations make sense to me

I mean, I’d be down for everyone switching to Heracles too. If you can’t get Disney on board it’ll be a lost cause though.

Square Enix just confirmed that a character’s name is pronounced exactly how everyone has been pronouncing it from day 1.

That’s a bummer that they couldn’t stick to the traditional pronunciation, especially when the original language and culture already has a tough time with preservation.

And I’m still none the wiser as to pronounce the “Sith” part.. I always assumed it was Sith as in Star Wars, Sith.

I think it’s funny that they almost certainly picked Shiva as the ice summon name because it’s close to “shiver”, which you do when you’re cold. Like, that’s the amount of thought they took when creating a recurring series character.

People still can’t get over the whole Aerith vs. Aeris thing, so what’s a giant toy robot moogle to do?

Now playing

it provides the same function as the “pipes” and “cables” all over the exterior that are really just part of the fiberglass shell and aren’t connected to anything.

A Tachikoma would be intensely more practical than this. For one thing, it’s about a third the size, and so doesn’t need to be so damn heavy or slow. Watching this thing move like a geriatric with severe osteoporosis is painful. Watching it make “punching” motions is just sad.

Shirow indulged himself with giant mecha

Square Cube law is mostly the problem, this thing is mostly a decorational fiberglass shell around a hydraulic lift. The legs look impressive until you realize they can’t move independently...same for the arms which can’t straighten out or rotate and are not shown grasping anything as they likely lack support for more

i think the selling point is mostly ‘hey billionaire weirdo in saudi arabia, here’s a new thing you can buy’

From what I understand actual walking is considered difficult to accomplish and inefficient for anything really heavy.  It’s a joint thing I think.
