I don't think we as women can "win" in any situation it feels like at times. I had my first kid at 22 ,which according to others is not ideal because at 22, you're not rich enough to send your kids to private school and give them the best of the best. I'm in my late 30's with 3 kids and no professional career and now

There is no such thing as a "good reason" to have a child. There are only selfish reasons. Just accept that going into it and deal with it.

I'm 50, and I'd rather be run over by a bus than have another baby at my age. But hey, to each their own.

My first boyfriend's parents and my husband's parents both grew up under similar circumstances—farming communities, living off the land, not dirt poor but by no means well-off. They both came into big money as adults, and now act as though everyone else should be able to do the same.

When I was trying to decorate for Christmas as cheaply as possible (I think, excluding the tree, I did it for under $15. Joanne's clearance FTW), I decided to describe my home as 'haphazard'.

I've found that the problem isn't in dealing with one's partner; it's integrating into one another's families that's the hard part.

I'd love to see someone take a look at the extended family dynamics when couples marry across classes. Mr. Aspen grew up solidly middle class. He grew up to work in a similar field as his dad. My MIL and I both work for public schools systems. We're living a very similar lifestyle to the one he grew up with. Mr. Aspen

We judge each other a lot by our homes and judge each other's class position by our homes; homes are a symbol of our class..

Or . . . take an Uber. That's what they were invented for, right?

Well, they kinda are crappy. Also, I heard a rumor that Kenny G. may have helped to invent them. Which makes it better or worse. Definitely makes it something.

My dad (75) does that all the time. He thinks it's hilarious. I tried to warn him not to screw with the people who make your food, but I've given up.

That's a more accurate name.

Haha you actually think that you can reason with somebody who's default reaction to not getting what they want is to start screaming and cursing. Really? I know these kinds of people, they're the ones who get mad because how dare you not read their mind? Then throw a tantrum like a baby instead of using their adult

There's nothing wrong with her body, that's how a 47 year old body looks, if you're lucky and have very, very good genes. Why people should continue the myth that beautiful = young I don't know. Because as a species our window of youth is relatively small, and we'll be old far longer than young. That's a long time to

"Taking a selfie with Jesus" sounds like a euphemism for someone dying.

I like her.

It kills me that your friend's situation, and the situation of so many others in the U.S., was the result of deliberate political processes designed to keep women in the home—while welfare became contingent on working, squeezing low-income women into a bind. http://www.newrepublic.com/article/112892… So much misery,

My other thought is, if she had access to affordable day care, maybe she would have gotten away from that sick bastard more easily as well.
