It seems that you are not familiar with the ways on which Black women have systematically been excluded and vilified by White Feminism.
It seems that you are not familiar with the ways on which Black women have systematically been excluded and vilified by White Feminism.
And I said you were White where exactly?
Comparing the sexual expression of a 50 year old (thank you, Google) White female actor and a 25 year old West-Indian born Black pop star just screams out what is wrong with White Feminism. The fact that you can't see how silly and ridiculous that comparison makes me shake my head. We have so far to go....sigh.
I know that—-I work in the entertainment industry.
I'm sorry, are you on Ri's management team? Otherwise how on God's green earth do you know what her thoughts, feelings, desires, and input is?
The assumption that she's talking about Black couples seems to have no basis. She is currently married or engaged to a White guy, previously was engaged to.another White guy, and publicly dated Bradley Cooper. Given her personal dating history it seems odd that she'd be talking only about Black couples when she stated…
Well, I end up communicating a lot with BFs because they are friends who I generally think are awesome and hilarious. Otherwise we'd just be "dating" or hook-up buddies. It's an organic thing—-we're in contact because it's fun to be in contact not because he or I mandate it.
I agree with everything you said. But neediness often comes down to a quest for validation. Does he like me? Will he respond to my text? I've seen my female friends engage in this behavior and have experienced it from guys I've dated.
It is true that it's obvious that the writer finds his music ridiculous and misogynistic. I just wish the tone wasn't so light-hearted. On this site writers fly into indignant rage when writing about Robin Thicke, his "pro-rape" song Blurred Lines, and his douchey demeanor, yet a man who has stood trial for molesting…
I'm not following your thought process.
Sarcasm is a type of humor. I don't speak about sexual assault in a humorous way.way. I don't because I'm not an asshole. Non-assholes don't address sexual assault like it's a joke ESPECIALLY when the victims of his assault are already one of the most marginalized groups on the planet—-Black girls.
So silly that the author carps on JM calling KP a "girl." That's his girlfriend. Everyone take a deep breath.
You obviously did not understand my comment.
The Daily Show isn't a news program. It's a comedy show. It's on Comedy Central.
Diana was the Princess of Wales. All royalty, like all First Ladies in the US take on a cause. He cause was the eradiction of land mines.
Her marketability for movies and ad campaigns has to do with the fact that she's a good actress, is drop dead gorgeous, is married to another high-profile drop dead gorgeous actor, and was involved in a controversial "relationship" with her now fiancee when he was married to another drop dead gorgeous actress. No need…
And yet two posts below this one is some hipster-ironic-nonsense post salivating over R.Kelly's new "opus." The same R.Kelly who is a known molester of Black girls, because, honestly, nothing deserves the hipster-ironic treatment like the known molester of Black girls, AMIRITE?!
That's cool. I like that he does his own thing.
Yup. It's all "hee hee" because his victims were Black girls. Who cares about them, right? If his victims were little blonde, blue-eyed "angels" the man would be reviled.
Sorry if the words I used are too big. Take your time and sound them out. You'll maybe one day graduate to big-people books, with chapters and no pictures. Until then there are several reading comprehension exercises I could recommend. You can do it!
