She seems sweet, funny, and a lot of fun! I hope she gets the weight under control for health, not to fit into any BS Hollywood standard.

I like the way LDR dresses. I love her "urban glamour" look. I actually think it's refreshing in the marketplace.

It's being cancelled?

She talked a bit about hiring Donald on "Bossypants" and at length on Inside the Actors' Studio. He was a senior at NYU when he was hired! She thought WAY ouside the box and discovered a major talent, someone who may have remained in obscurity being a young Black guy with zero connections in the industry. If only

She seems to be pretty open and honest and if it was pressure from the studio she would just own up to that, I'm fairly certain. But in her case diversity in her writers' room was a pragmatic business decision. She wanted young people to tune in (for the coveted 18 to 49 year old demo that advertisers love) and

That's why I put "diversity hire" in quotes :-). It was Tina saying "We need a non-Middle Aged White male on our writing staff to make it the best show possible." She and her producers sought out someone young and of color intentionally. He was 22 years old and a senior at NYU when he was hired to be a writer on

I think it's pretty obvious in 2013 that the default in lots of hiring is White guys. Especially in something like comedy writing. So yes, having a diverse writing room takes extra effort and if it's important to you you'll make the effort.

Sadly this isn't rare for comedy writer's rooms :-(. When The Mindy Project debuted Mindy was the only.non-White male in the writers' room. Since then a White woman writer has been hired.

Yes. Mutual respect is everything. She is a consummate professional. (.child CPR certified). And after 2 years together she and her son have become part of the family.

I personally would never under-pay someone who watches my daughter. That would absolutely terrify me. Estelle makes a very robust salary. In life I believe you mostly get what you pay for.

I think Miley is a feminist. She's also 20 years old and a human being, i.e., prone to make mistakes like we all are.

Why? It's her body.

Well, you are on a site—-we all are—-which treats WoC like absolute garbage. And every time you click on a link on this site you are making them money. Does that make you less of a feminist?

Ok.

I think if you're paying for childcare you are "entitled" to have the childcare provider adhere to your rules. They are being hired to provide a service.

The snarky tone with which childcare is addressed on this site drives me bonkers. What are people supposed to do who don't live near their in-laws for child care and who work outside the home (or who work inside the home)? I'm not sure why hiring help is villified on here.

It just seems rude. Sorry. Not trying to hear screaming when I'm trying to eat. And that's a touristy place, I hope they had the decency to scan for kids before acting like rude pricks. Not because it's related to sex but because kids wouldn't understand that those people simply have no home-training and would

I would love for there to be a day, really, really soon when the booty-shaking back-up dancer goes bye-bye for good.

So, unlike Miley who used Black women as props, and the stereotypical rapper who uses Black women dancers as sex objects, Lily Allen uses them as the punchline to a joke (oh, sorry, "satire") and yet that's supposed to be ok because...err, because...I'm at a loss.
