I fight for inclusivity as my life's work and by simply existing in the places I exist. Inclusivity is a major life tenet of mine. I apologize if that was not conveyed in my comment/use of terminology.

This is awesome in terms on inclusivity
Of non-gender conforming individuals!

Why exactly is gender testing a terrible thing? It's in no way inconceivable that men (with their "unfair" advantage of more naturally occuring musculature and testosterone levels) would want to compete with women in order to dominate.

My understanding is that it tests physical sexual organs and hormone levels.

I think they were trying to be "edgy". given KVD's image. And often "edgy" and offensive sit side-by-side...

I love LDR...love her sorta drugged-out sounding voice, love her torch songs, love her prissy-White-girl-meets-"urban culture." On the latter, I think she does that in a WAY more interesting way than Miley Cyrus.

I don't get it at all.

I think be definition "ratchet" denotes a largely race-based caricture, what, back in my day we called "ghetto fabulous."

It irks me that so many (vocal) lay people—-and I will assume you are a lay person despite (because of?) your use of jargon—-believe that medical/scientific studies MUST track US Census data or, ipso facto, the results are "biased."

The population they are studying is NOT the US ; it is the population that has had this very expensive elective surgery. A population that I will guess skews heavily in the direction of middle to upper.income women with very comprehensive insurance.

You can and should, 100% vet your surgeon. The man or woman has your life in his or her hands. That's non-negotiable, at ANY income bracket. One needs also vet the hospital for its infection rates.

When getting surgery it's vitally important to vet the surgeon within an inch of his or her life. Because, as we both know, one's life is literally in the surgeon's hands.

No.

From when my great Aunt approached her surgeon to do the surgery to when her doctor actually agreed to do it was 10 months. In that time my great Aunt was mandated by her surgeon to meet with a dietician and a therapist. My great Aunt's surgeon is one, of the most renowed weight loss surgeons in the Northeast and she

You are mixing up terminology. The fact that the study is not representative of various racial/ethnic groups does not make it "biased." Using that terminology in this context is like mixing apples and oranges.

Well...sex (if done right :-)) often involves cardiovascular activity and excessive weight often impedes stamina. .

The sample is not "biased" because of the racial make-up of its participants. That is an inappropriate term for this context. I take it that you don't work directly in this field?

And what about the life expectancy of remaining significantly overweight.

I think the nuances are lost on 7th and 8th graders and that's why I think a Hooters dinner at that age isn't a great thing.
