Not totally false, my car runs 10.5 afr under full boost/WOT and I quite often get some sizable flames out the pipes between shifts. Most often is when I go WOT and let off half through the rev range.

Many reasons, the extra lift and clearance, better protection for the wheels when off roading as on a lot of the trails around here its common for some pretty rocky patches, tires of this size are comparatively cheap, construction in Utah county has claimed many a low profile tire wheel setup.

Wheel setup is Cooper Discoverer A/T3 235/60/17 tires on 17x8" wheels with a 28 offset.

Rolled fenders, stock STi springs, with 1" aluminum lift. It has about 3-4" drop and 2" compression travel from where it sits in that pic, it does plenty fine :)

MY current DD... 08' STi, Tuned on e85 at 365whp and 432wtq. Front and rear LSds with DCCD and 8" of clearance. My go wherever do anything, haul whatever fast car.

I think to the buyer that doesn't plan to mod or race their car and just have it as a Daily only, the 2010+ WRXs are the better buy for sure, easier on the wallet and will still do most everything if not all the STi can around town, and probably even in greater comfort. But... If you do plan to mod it, race it etc.…
