In all seriousness, the United States used to be the home of a lot more luxury boat/yacht manufactures but the imposition of a luxury tax on boats caused a lot of them to shut down and new builders sprang up in France. If you want to buy a luxury Catamaran they are pretty much all made in France or South Africa now.…

The US tried a yacht tax back in the ‘90's. It didn’t raise much money but pretty much killed the domestic yacht-building industry.

Golden age of cheap used cars. Cars have gotten so good in the last 15 years that there are really no “bad” cars and haven’t been for the last decade or so. Right now, you can get a camry or a focus on craigslist with less than 150k on it and fully expect to ride it to 200k all for less than $3000.
