The Herd's home world in Footfall is what I see missing here.

Specifically, Bond is not Sci-Fi (sorry, the gadgets aren't enough to meet genre requirements), so I am confused why io9 is tracking this film like it is the Hobbit.

I feel like I am on crazy pill here. It is just another Bond film. All this hype is akin to everyone getting all to hell about a mid-season episode of Seinfeld. No matter how original and novel the story is in this installment, it still is a Bond film and as such, we really kind of know how things will work out.
