Texas Pete's is pretty thick, Cholula is more runny for sure though, it's more like Tabasco like consistency.

yea, I don't buy that either. Choula's and Texas Pete, for example, are hot sauces in the same range. If your saying people like it because it's more like spicy ketchup than a true hot sauce, that I can kinda buy.

That's my feeling. obviously, people have different tastes, but to me Sriracha is good, but not some world changing condiment. I think Texas Pete or Louisiana Hot Sauce is far better.

It's ok. There are far better Hot Sauces available. Not sure why the World at large acts like the stuff is the first hot sauce ever made commercially available.
