Two things for the record.

I am 5.2 % of the way through the 4th book, Cibola Burn; having read the earlier 3 last month. The are what they are - entertaining and fun. Great literature, no, but some solid characters that you can invest in and a story mixing a good blend of science with fiction. Great for hot and humid days in a hammock.

As a child of the 50's (early 50's) I find all teenagers annoying. All of them.

Throughout the summer of 1976 I had a passionate love affair with a white, crystalline substance. It too made me smarter, stronger and more confident. Some months later I woke up to find that didn't have a friend left in the world except for my dog, and even she wasn't too sure about me I know. This would be a

I am happy that there are young people who might, maybe, and possibly very well do understand this. Me. Not so much, but if I lay in this hammock a bit longer...

The whole Stargate thing... I went a long time without either a TV (still don't have) or anything approaching high speed internet, but a nephew of mine sent a DVD with some compressed episodes of Stargate Universe (Yes, I liked it...a lot. That whole dark setting, the mystery surrounding the Ancients...)

I just finished watching this episode. I am exhausted. I am an empty shell. There is no hope.

Tears of joy if he sneezed in my presence.

Thank you, Meredith.

That is truly, truly frightening.

Living in a land as I do, where bugs are routinely eaten as snacks, I can say with the authority of experience that beer - sometimes in heroic portions - eases that introduction. That, and having those critters cooked till crispy

"...believability and plausibility aren't that much to ask for."

This has become the show "I love to hate." I love it sometimes because I think even bad scifi is better than no scifi, and looking at beautiful women across the generations isn't a bad thing, but damn! I'm shouting out-loud at the fraking stupidity of everyone involved...

The one thing that had me coming back week after week early in the season was the hope of catching a few moments of May.

We live off the grid and surrounded by forest. Sleep comes by about 8:30 pm, and I am up at 3:30am; doing what I do. I am in an office at 8am with a 2 hour lunch at 12. Usually I nap in my office, on a grass mat, until 2pm, then back to my desk until 5 or 6. Been this way for decades, so I believe in segmented

Dare I suggest torrents? I live far, far off the grid and my ability to understand popular culture - such as it is - depends on a good downloader.

Thank you. I needed that.
