917's have a key starter - mounted to the left of the steering wheel - just like all Porsches. The key is even famously drilled for lightness!!! The On OFF switch mounted by the windshield is the Battery Switch not the starter.

It was the FIA Regs that required the "Spare Tire" along with a very specifically sized mandated "trunk".
Well.... of course, It just wouldn't do to have things like Car Dealerships actually in Aspen. I'm sure there's a zoning ordinance against it. Much better to send it down the valley to Glenwood. Besides the staff does things like take the cars to the dealers. Who cares where they have to go to do it.
Well..... I see a GTO , a 275LM , and the Breadvan. There's an easy 100 mil right there, then there a number of Birdcage Maserati, several light weight XK's and a 427 —- That's another 100 mil, throw in the racing Vettes and the Aston Martin's ( assuming a true documented racing provenance from the…

I put 100,000 miles on my 914-6 in the early 70's before trading up to a 2.4 S. Lots of track days in my 6 as well. With "slicks" on and a few "Improvements" I had no problem keeping pace with most 911's.
..... or his father, the guy who made tires squeal in every dirt road car chase.
Shouldn't the title really be:

..... So who was Dad looking at on the right side???? He wasn't paying attention either!
Well—- OK , assuming you can actually find one, maybe you can buy an original 4 Cam Carrera engine for $150 K ......
