I honestly think Moore got it right in Bowling for Columbine and that being kept afraid is a big factor in gun violence in America because for most of my life in Canada getting a gun has been pretty easy and prevalent. We’re just are less likely to use them on each other. If you don’t think of others as a threat when

Yeah it’s ridiculous. If people want to be responsible sane adults who go and hang out at gun ranges doing target practice or who want to hunt with a license in designated areas that’s really their prerogative. But there really is no oversight for people who can or cannot purchase firearms. I mean if I get a ticket up

I’m Australian. I just pop in to these sorts of articles to read the comments. I do it to try and work out why you put up with this.

I haven’t found the answer yet.

Yeah I actually find it very obnoxious that the writer thinks Amy Schumer owes anyone anything because the shooting happened at a screening of her film. I’m sure she feels bad enough without someone pressuring her about this.

I agree. BTW, did anyone call out Christopher Nolan when there was the shooting during The Dark Knight Rises and ask him to advocate for gun control? I don’t remember.

I’ll give Amy Schumer credit for taking her responses slowly. One tweet just after the shooting, saying that she was “heartbroken” by it, and then this one. It sounds like she may actually be doing research and putting some thought in to how best to respond.

Truly a banner week for news on NFL stars who destroyed digital material under suspicious circumstances.

Smart, smart, smart! I married a guy that had debt, stuff in collections, had the IRS after him because he didn’t file taxes for a few years... Yes, didn’t file. Like, he got too busy, forgot to do it, then figured it was already late, so why do it at all? Ugh! I’m a 820 FICO score, so this drove me NUTS!!! But I

Interesting. I agree with credit card debt. But student debt to me, is not necessarily ok, depending on what you went into debt for. If you took out $200k in student loans for a degree that you knew was going to have a low income-earning capacity, then I’m not sure that it is ok. It seems kind of foolish, actually.

I think it depends on not just debt, but their earning capacity. I have student debt and my husband does not, but I also make twice as much as him. In that scenario, I’m not sure it matters because he doesn’t feel as if he is working to pay off my loans. On the other hand, I would not marry someone with $200k in debt

Also a convicted rapist who, admittedly, serve his time and, also admittedly, seems to have recently strived to have some self-awareness and be a better person.

Mike Tyson has at least attempted to apologize for his shitty past, and doesn’t brag about the women in his life being objects. He’s no saint, obviously, but exponentially more self-aware.

Well, when you’re Russian your tank to the front lines, there’s no time for Stalin.

I’m trying to find the part where they answered the question.

he’d been allowed to play as part of a “one-time supervised part of a rehabilitation process”

If the meth man were a zombie, this would be the beginning of a great short story. She’s a good writer.

There’s no way that it would take more time to have him point at a line of text on a menu than to get two managers involved to eventually decide on and approve the plan Josh came up with.

right, because that never happens on a public website with commenting, lol.
