well - maybe use a different term? why do you think people get worked up about it? anyway - is it a "mental" issue? maybe the brain is physically different? maybe there are other physiological issues that aren't related to appearance?

Interesting replies. There seems to be an unhealthy amount of "I think they're mentally ill.... not that there is anything wrong with that." opinions out there. I guess that's still progress though.

Holy Fire was a great book and I agree - people don't give enough credence to what our bodies *make* us do.
First thought was as young as I could be and be fully mature - then I thought about all the hormones and energy I had back then. They made me make a lot of stupid and/or questionable decisions. And I can't blame it on lack of wisdom. I usually knew better. Plus I would get bored quickly. Don't think I'd want that…
