Same. I did mostly non-shopping things. I don't see what the emergency is to open on Sundays.

I think it's more about the tourists. A couple of people I spoke to when I was in France reminded me about the Sunday thing so I would remember to shop other days. They're all already used to it and they all seem to like it that way. Plus, places where you buy emergency items are open.
