I'm annoyed by this because I hate memes/trends/fun things but I agree that it has actually had a wonderful effect. People have donated a ton of money and done something fun in the meantime. People love to see celebrities do fun/stupid things. People also love when money goes to a good cause. So win-win.

I agree they're just doing for their own publicity but I'm like 99.9% sure that every celebrity that has done it has also donated the money. And in some cases, much more than the $100 (like Charlie Sheen who gave $10,000).
