Let's play rock, paper, scissors to decide this. You win, it's not pizza, I win, it's pizza. K?

This company is on fire!

The cuteness cannot be contained!

Legos!

Now that I think about it, I doubt a shooting like this would hold up as self-defense even in Texas or Florida. She wasn't breaking a window or forcing entry in any way... I wonder if the dude had a peep-hole. If he did and he chose not to use it... I predict he gets manslaughter 2 or something and serves five years.

Granted it's just an anecdote but when I was a kid my house got broken into three times in the course of five years and none of the burglars/intruders ever knocked.

It seems that the majority of teenagers think that they're the "exception" to the "rule" and that "it won't happen to them".

Parkour... bark-kour?

Awesome! That story just made my day!

:(

Since when do intruders knock on the door/ring the bell?

I hate you so much.

The answer could have been much shorter: don't use them.

I lock every door and window. When I was a kid growing up in Chicago, our house was broken into three times in the course of five years... and we lived in a pretty nice part of town only a few blocks from a police sub-station. Statistical fluke, sure, but one of the burglars was a coked-out convict out on parol armed

As an economist, I have to agree with you but it really doesn't have anything to do with moral reasons (at least not directly). We need agriculture to take up some of the slack in the labor force... which is only going to get worse with the relentless march of automation.

Legally, I believe you're correct. No expectation of privacy when you're in public has been firmly established. I'm very curious to see how this is handled. Perhaps they'll do something like the current legal definition of porn: "you know it when you see it".

Damn, I though New Zealand was civil :(
