There’s one crosswalk on my commute like this, a much better solution. The solid red is long enough for “normal” people to cross the street, and then the flashing red allows for “slow” crossers, but also allows for traffic to proceed if the crosswalk is already empty.

You can’t turn me into a hood ornament if I wait to cross. I’m not suggesting people should cross in front of traffic without the light.

I had the same reaction, and after today’s NPOND, that’s twice in one day I’ve thought about the Axiom.

The city where I work has begun putting crosswalks mid-block, and they have stoplights activated by the pedestrians. In theory, you could circle a block and encounter 12 crosswalks. I, personally, do not activate the crosswalk stoplights and stop traffic, I just wait until it’s safe to cross. I wish everyone did that.

My step-dad got it from a building’s poorly maintained HVAC system, kind of hard to avoid buildings though.

The Explorer outsold the XJ, but I think if not for the XJ reaching 150k units per year, the Explorer may not have existed.

The incentive for lag (profit) outweighs the incentive for responsiveness (safety).

It’s par for the course, I’m afraid. It doesn’t have to do with safety, it’s a for-profit business.

So, to exit the vehicle, do you use the exterior door handles? Or do you fish around with your hands in those door holes searching for some type of release latch?

I’m on my 2nd WRX. I don’t necessarily need an STi, but I test drove a new WRX and the steering is a bit of a deal breaker. Way too boosted. Now I’m shopping elsewhere, but I’m still early in the process.

Could use a new air filter.

That Coronet is in pretty good shape. Would look less ratty with some period correct hubcaps off of ebay. Maybe something like this?

One of the government’s caveats to approve the FCA deal is that they had to build a 40 MPG highway car. I don’t think anyone wanted to make it. At least it looked nice (IMO).

I dig the wheel-to-fender ratio.

Don’t tell my grandma, she loved her Citation.  But it was mostly a carport ornament because she never drove anywhere. They took grandpa’s van everywhere.

Anyone have experience with the no power steering?  I’m sure it’s fine at speed (maybe even better!) but what’s it like navigating a parking lot?
