Regarding impact load, I was pondering if there was a way (say, an electric motor) to speed the tire up to 150 mph or whatever speed prior to contact, if that might help tread life and even potentially make landings safer. I’m sure the answer is no, or they’d already be doing this. It’s just weird that the aircraft

I’m just upset to learn that Christopher Nolan loves the Fast & Furious franchise. Not that I’m a huge Christopher Nolan fan, but I do (did?) have respect for the amount of care and effort he puts into film making.

They did run a Super Bowl ad one year, so over 100 million people at least had an opportunity to see what a Lucid is. I don’t know how many of those people were paying attention the moment the ad ran.

Is the “cheap” version even available?

I assumed they had to keep at least one tech on staff with long fingernails.

Then you would be very surprised. A cash buyer is rare for these.

But it launched a good Chappelle spoof.

I’ve only heard one concept so far, which I would say sounded “OK” but it was way too loud for my taste.

Thanks for that.  As I suspected, the technology exists.

Agreed, that’s what I was getting at with the quotation marks.

I would have to experience it. Seems like this proposal has a tactile element to it, also. Hopefully it sounds better than tire hum and other road noises.

I had to check my bill out of curiosity. Overnight “Tier 1" electricity is roughly 11 cents, Tier 2 “peak” electricity is roughly 13 cents. So if I had an EV it would save me a lot of money on energy. The math changes even more for anyone with access to free charging at work, for example.

Depends on where you live. I’m not going to check the math, but it sounds like you have expensive electricity. I do not, but we do have pricey gas. I can’t travel 26 miles on $4.90. I average around 25 MPG.  Gas is well over $5 per gallon.

I noticed the Pacifica is MIA.

But they could be retrofitted with modern safety standards. If the goverment required it, they would find a way to do it.

They have to be able to move with the bed up, because sometimes they spread whatever they are dumping over an area. However, I don’t see a reason to allow freeway speeds. But we all know why there aren’t more safety measures in place. $$$

My fear comes from the fact they’re closing stations. Maybe I live by a station today, but will it still be there tomorrow?

Someone check iHop.

You can count me among “the people” that prefers the ICE experience to the EV experience. All road noise, nothing pleasant.

If true, I don’t even think it’s a legal “financial institution.” There are interest rate ceilings on consumer loans.
