I don't watch The Walking Dead. I have my reasons, though they have little to do with the show as such. However, I keep tabs on it through the io9 recaps and with friends who do watch. And so far, everyone has told me this is the best season yet… except for this writer.
I have noticed on some avatars a blue check in the lower right hand corner. Anybody have any idea what it means? I though maybe it meant that person has been Officially Approved by NuKinja… but then I noticed Captain Max and JINX have a check, so that's clearly not the case.
Did anybody catch DrillPress' appearance in the Archer premiere? I'm impressed that he kept it secret all this time. I would have spilled the beans if I had been on the show.
The season premiere of Archer did not disappoint. And the last five minutes was totally astounding.
After much haranguing from different directions, my daughter and I finally sat down to watch the first episode of Sherlock, "A Study in Pink". And then after that total gobsmack we watched the next two episodes as well. So that was roughly four-and-a-half hours of great TV. I'm thankful we only have to wait till next…
…and i thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not a Tolkien superfan, so I'm not upset with liberties taken. But I found the action exciting and the story engaging. While I find the CG orcs and wolves a bit dull, Smaug was stupendous. And my favorite bit was the wizard battle between Gandalf and Sauron.
There is nothing like talented actors who bring to life the amazing words of Shakespeare. My son and my sister and I attended a screening of the RSC premiere of Richard II, with David Tennant in the title role. The image above is from the scene where Richard passes the crown to his usurper Henry Bolingbroke (Nigel…
…and I won't finish the quote, because in general I have found it to be untrue for the majority of O-deck regulars. This is one of the best behaved, pleasant, and downright funniest group of interneters I have had the privilege to interact with.
I was hoping a shot of bourbon in my Dr Pepper would help, but it isn't. I have a killer chorus but everything else is utter garbage. I hate this.
My daughter received her first college acceptance letter today!
I whipped up a little something for you. I hope you like it.
If you haven't seen it, do so immediately. It's funny, it's silly, it's charming. Peter Davison leads Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy on an epic(ish) quest to appear in "The Day of the Doctor". It's a half-hour of Whovian goodness.
Just got back from viewing Gravity. What an intense movie. It might mean that we can have nice things.
she solved my Halloween costume dilemma. She said, 'just wear your Totoro shirt and tell everyone you're a big Totoro." Done and done!
i have had just too much bourbon to be coherent but not enough to prevent me from posting this.
There are many good threads. I have many good thoughts to contribute. But I don't have the energy or...happy feelings needed to make those posts.
So. After some very kind and encouraging responses to my post on the Hepler article, I decided to take the plunge... and I bought a used copy of Mass Effect 2 from Game Stop tonight.
I can die happy now!
Okay, so I've been following the brouhaha regarding the selection of the next Doctor. In an effort to add something new to the debate, I decided to examine the problem as I would a design problem (I'm a graphic designer by trade). So, let's look at what we want and expect in a Doctor, and allow that to direct us to…
Karl Urban recently opined that he wants Star Trek 3 to be a brand new original story. And, of course, the flags are waved and the speeches made about how goddamn awful Star Trek: Into Darkness was, and Abrams & Co. are out of ideas, and they totally ripped off and made worse The Wrath of Kahn, which the Alpha…
